Case study

Seafront live music: stage, lighting, sound and DJ equipment

A live band and a DJ need different equipment, but their setups must work within the same event plan. This seafront production brings together a raised stage, overhead lighting truss, PA loudspeakers, stage monitors and a dedicated DJ position. The evening view shows how the sound, lighting and performance area come together beside the sea.

A stage built around the performance

The raised platform gives the musicians a defined performance area, with steps at the front and room for instruments, microphone stands and floor monitors. Above it, an aluminium truss carries moving-head lights and LED fixtures. Purple and blue lighting colours the stage, while projected patterns add texture across the platform. For outdoor stage hire and event lighting in Cyprus, the stage layout and lighting positions need to be planned together. The performance area, access, cable routes and available mounting positions all shape the setup.

Live sound, microphones and musicians' equipment

PA loudspeakers sit to either side of the stage, with subwoofers at floor level and wedge monitors facing the performers. A Behringer X32 digital mixing console provides the operating position for the live sound. The stage photograph also shows a Yamaha drum kit, cymbals, additional percussion and microphones on stands. These details matter when preparing for a live band: the instrument list, microphone inputs and monitor requirements should be agreed together. Wireless microphone requirements can be included in the same sound brief for presenters, vocalists or announcements.

A dedicated Pioneer DJ setup

The DJ position pairs Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS2 media players with a DJM-A9 mixer. Keeping DJ playback on its own controls gives the DJ a familiar working setup alongside the separate live-sound console. For an event combining live music and DJ sets, the handover is part of the technical plan. Playback connections, sound levels and microphone requirements need to be considered before the programme starts.

Plan the complete AV setup

EventsOnWheels can help shape a combined brief for stage rental, truss systems, event lighting, sound system hire and DJ equipment rental in Cyprus. Share your venue, event date, programme and musicians' technical rider so the team can discuss backline instruments, wireless microphones and the equipment needed around the performance.
